January 4, 2026 | Becoming Like Jesus

Scripture: Luke 9:23

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Discipleship isn’t about knowing more facts. It’s about staying close to Jesus.

He didn’t say, “Learn about Me.” He said, “Follow Me.” And that invitation still stands every day.

Following Jesus means choosing His way over our own. It means trusting His truth even when it challenges our preferences. Discipleship shows up in small, daily decisions to walk where He leads.

Very similar to gardening, most growth isn’t dramatic--Or even overnight. It happens quietly, over time.

But every step matters. Faithful obedience, practiced daily, leads to real change.

APPLICATION Today, don’t ask how much you know about Jesus. Ask where He wants you to follow Him, and then do It. Discipleship always moves us forward.

PRAYER

Jesus, help me follow You more closely. Show me where You are leading, and give me the courage to walk in Your way.
