TODAY’S PRAYER POINT

Pray for awareness of opportunities to be a positive influence in your community.

BIBLE VERSE | Matthew 5:13-16

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

In this powerful teaching from Jesus, He calls us to be both salt and light in a world that often feels dark and flavorless

As believers, we are called to be salt and light in a world that desperately needs hope.

Salt serves several purposes: It enhances flavor, preserves food, and can even bring healing.

As believers, we are called to enhance the world around us, bringing out the best in our communities and relationships.

When we demonstrate love, kindness, and truth, we add flavor to life. This flavor can spark curiosity and draw others toward the hope we have in Christ.

However, Jesus warns us about losing our saltiness. When we compromise our values or blend in too much with the world, we lose our distinctive flavor.

The challenge is to remain true to our faith, actively engaging with the culture around us while standing firm in our beliefs.

Light symbolizes guidance, truth, and hope. Just as a city on a hill stands out against the night sky, we are called to shine brightly in a world filled with darkness.

Our actions, words, and attitudes should reflect the love of Christ, illuminating the way for others.

This means not only living a life of integrity but actively sharing the gospel and serving those in need.

APPLICATION

SALT | Identify areas in your life where you can be a positive influence.

  • What can you do to bring God's love to others?

LIGHT | Think about how you can be a light to someone who is struggling. This could mean:

  • Offering support;

  • Sharing your testimony, or;

  • Simply being present.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE | Let your words and actions be a tangible expression of God's love that points others to Him.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be salt and light in this world.

Help me to maintain my saltiness and shine brightly for You.

May my life draw others closer to You, and may I never hide the light that You have placed within me.

In Jesus' name, I pray~ Amen.
